Bungy
Queenstown is the home of bungy jumping, with three bungy jumps to choose from. Kawarau Bungy is the original bungy jump, boasting a 43m jump, head first into the Kawarau River. You can even get dunked in the water! The AJ Hackett Nevis Highwire Bungy is New Zealand’s biggest bungy, suspended on wires 134m over the rugged Nevis River – try it if you dare! The Ledge Bungy is purpose built for an adrenalin rush. Take the Skyline Gondola up the mountain and leap from the ledge. This is Queenstowns only urban bungy. Enjoy stunning views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables, before a running jump 47m down the cliff face.
Canyon Swing and the Nevis Arc
If you’d like to try something a little different to the traditional bungy during your stay in Queenstown, the Canyon Swing and the Nevis Arc will provide the adrenalin rush you’re after. The Canyon Swing in located over the Shotover River on a 109m cliff drop. The Nevis Arc is brought to you by AJ Hackett Bungy and involves a walk across a 70m suspension bridge, to a launch pad. Experience the drop down, followed by a swing towards the cliff face. The Nevis Arc is the biggest, fasted swing in the world! This is a Queenstown attraction not to be missed.
Jet Boating
With a landscape braided with alpine rivers, Queenstown offers the perfect location for jet boating and there are a range of operators or a variety of rivers to choose from. Depart from Queenstown town centre on the Kawerau Jet. Skim across Lake Wakatipu and up the Kawerau River, and into the shallows of the Shotover River. Take off on a Dart River Jet Safari and explore the stunning Mount Aspiring National Park. For a tight squeeze, blast through the Skippers Canyon, on the Skippers Canyon Jet. Experience the famous Hamilton jet spins and the thrill of seeing locations from the Lord of the Rings trilogy films.
White Water Rafting
Prepare to get wet during this Queenstown activity, while white water rafting on the spectacular Shotover River. Confront six rapids and the spooky darkness of the 170 metre Oxenbridge Tunnel. You don’t have to have experience to come white water rafting; your guides will teach you everything you need to know! Some operators even include a hot shower or sauna as part of the package!
Skiing and Snowboarding
On any given day, choose between Coronet Peak Ski Area, Remarkables’ Ski Area, Cardrona Alpine Resort, Snow Farm Nordic Ski Area, Snow Park or Treble Cone Ski Area. You can even experience the joys of heli-skiing endless untouched powder slopes, commencing right from our own heli-pad. Each alpine sports area is unique, boasting stunning views and unlimited variety for skiers and snowboarders.
